THE National Microfinance Bank (NMB) has once again won Euromoney award as the Best Bank in Tanzania given by the global financial markets magazine - Euromoney.
The Euromoney awards, now in their 25th
year, provide a benchmark for levels of service and financial
performance across the banking industry. “It is a great honour to be
recognised by Euromoney for the work we have done.
What we do is simple: we support our
customers, connecting them to opportunities using our network, strong
balance sheet and integrated product capability,” the NMB Managing
Director, Ms Ineke Bussemaker, said in a statement.
“Investing in technology such as mobile
banking, integration with mobile network e-money offerings, the largest
branch network and ATM network in the country has played a key role in
the bank’s expansion making it the leader in promoting financial
inclusion in Tanzania.
” These annual awards cover more than 20
global product categories, best-in-class awards in all regions and the
best banks in close to 100 countries around the world.
It recognises financial institutions
worldwide that have recorded significant accomplishments within their
operating environments, display innovation and record excellent
financial performance year on year.
This award adds to more than three
awards that NMB had bagged in the last 12months including the Best SME
Bank in Tanzania by The Banker magazine, Best Presented Financial
Statement by NBAA and Euromoney award which has now been won four times
in a row.
