PRESIDENT John Magufuli has sent his deep felt condolences to the Speaker of the National Assembly, Job Ndugai, following the death of former MP for Kilindi constituency, the late Beatrice Shellukindo.
President Magufuli yesterday described
the death of the late Shellukindo as a great loss to the nation since
the latter had made massive contribution towards the country’s national
development growth, particularly when she served as Tanzanian member of
the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) and later as legislator of
the National Assembly until last year.
Former MP Shelukindo died on Saturday at
her home at Njiro area in Arusha after battling long illness. Until her
death, she was a member of the ruling CCM’s National Executive
Committee (NEC).
“She was a very hard working leader who
had always been standing for bringing development for the citizens and
defending the country’s natural resources,” Dr Magufuli said in his
message.
He insisted: “Through you honourable
Speaker, I also pass my condolences to the family, relatives, friends as
well as MPs.” As he prayed for her resting in eternal peace, Dr
Magufuli also pleaded with all those touched by the death of the late
Shellukindo to be patient as they now pass through hard times following
the loss of their beloved one.
