PRESIDENT John Magufuli has appointed former cabinet minister, Dr Asha-Rose Migiro, new High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.
According to a press statement issued by
the Directorate of Presidential Communications in Dar es Salaam
yesterday, the former Justice and Constitutional Affairs Minister; and
Foreign Affairs Minister in the Fourth Phase government, will be
sworn-in in Dodoma today.
Dr Migiro replaces Ambassador Peter
Kalaghe who has been brought back to the country for other duties. She
is one of the three ambassadors appointed by Dr Magufuli in March.
Other new ambassadors appointed by the
head of state are Mr Mathias Chikawe (Japan) and Dr Ramadhani Dau, who
was Director General of the National Social Security Fund (NSSF). Dr
Migiro was Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations (UN) from 2007
to 2012
