SUNDAY NEWS Reporter
AT LEAST 500 new jobs will be created from the launch of the first Pizza Hut and a series of other restaurants set to be opened across the country over the year.

Addressing journalists in Dar es Salaam yesterday at the launch of the first Pizza Hut store located at the Mkuki Mall in the city, the Director of Dough Works Ltd, Mr Vikram Desai said the company plans for rapid expansion and growth with a target of over 30 stores across the country.
“The company has worked hard in securing Pizza Hut’s placement in the country, which shows the confidence from Yum! Brands in boosting the economy and the investors of Dough Works Limited,” said Mr Vikram.
About four to five stores will be opened in areas around Mikocheni, Mbezi, Mbagala, Masaki and the city centre in the next four months. The services will also be extended further in regions such as Arusha, Mbeya, Zanzibar, Mwanza and many others to follow.
“We would like to thank all the regulators and vendors for being supportive and extending guidance on the opening of Pizza Hut in the country,” noted the Director.
The Director of Quality Control from Yum Brands Pizza Hut, Mr Andre Strydem, pointed out that the company was working hard to ensure their products are affordable to every person without excluding any one.
“We do not just offer pizza but rather quality pizza which is comprised of the best service in over 15,000 restaurants in 90 countries in the world,” pointed out Mr Strydem. Along the way services will be extended to busy junctions like Chalinze, Kibaha, Segera and many more.
Pizza Hut is the world’s largest pizza chain with 12 billion US dollars in global sales across the world.
