THE government is finalising procedures on the registration of births, deaths, properties, foreign businesses and institutions, Justice and Constitutional Affairs Minister, Dr Harrison Mwakyembe, has disclosed.
Speaking to representative from
organisations under his ministry, the minister said the harmonisation of
the registration was crucial for monitoring activities undertaken by
local and foreign-based entities operating in the country.
“I have called a special stakeholders
and experts meeting on that agenda where Tanzania looks forward to
ensure registration of all entities and activities are well monitored
and regulated accordingly,” he said.
Dr Mwakyembe said the current
registration system was inadequate since each registration agency has
its own records and system which could make it easy for people or
organisations with evil motives to penetrate in the country.
He said there is evidence of
organisations that have entered the country with dirty agenda, including
advocating abominable same-sex marriages. rths making the total
children registered and issued with certificates in the same period to
reach 270,618 or 54 percent of the target.
