PRESIDENT John Magufuli released a line-up of Regional Administrative Secretaries (RASs) that has seen 10 new faces.
According to a media statement issued by
the Directorate of Presidential Communications, the Chief Secretary
(CS), Ambassador John Kijazi, said the Head of State also transferred
two RASs to new duty stations while 13 others have retained their
regions.
The new faces in Dr Magufuli’s list are
Richard Kwitega who will serve in Arusha Region, Selestine Gesimba
(Geita), Armatus Msole (Kagera), Engineer Aisha Amour (Kilimanjaro) and
Mr Zuberi Samataba (Coast).
Others are Mr Albert Msovela
(Shinyanga), Dr Angelina Lutambi (Singida), Mr Jumanne Sagini (Simiyu),
Dr Thea Ntara (Tabora) and Engineer Zena Said (Tanga).
According to the statement, Mr Charles
Pallangyo has been transferred from Geita to Kigoma Region while Dr John
Sunguru now becomes new Morogoro RAS. He has been transferred from
Kigoma Region.
Those who have retained their regions
are Ms Theresia Mbando (Dar es Salaam), Ms Rehema Madenge (Dodoma), Ms
Wamoja Dickolagwa (Iringa), Commissioner of Police Paul Chagonja
(Katavi), Mr Ramadhani Kaswa (Lindi), Mr Benedict Ole Kuyan (Mara) and
Mr Eliakim Maswi (Manyara).
Others are Ms Mariam Mtunguja (Mbeya),
Mr Alfred Luanda (Mtwara), Commissioner of Police Clodwig Mtweve
(Mwanza), Mr Jackson Saitabau (Njombe), Symthies Pangisa (Rukwa) and Mr
Hassan Bendeyeko (Ruvuma).
The president has not yet appointed RAS
of the newly formed Songwe Region. RASs are the heads of regional
secretariats and are the principal advisors to the Regional
Commissioners (RCs).
The administrative role of the regional
secretariat is both to facilitate and to support the development choices
made by the local government and to support the realisation of the
goals and targets of the local government authorities in relation to
national development.
The newly-appointed RASs will take oath of office at the State House in Dar es Salaam tomorrow.
