Minister of State, Mr Mohamed
Aboud Mohamed, has said that all people including the opposition are
warmly welcome at the swearing-in ceremony of the elected President, Dr
Ali Mohamed Shein.
“We hope leaders from Zanzibar and
Tanzania Mainland including those who have retired will be present at
the ceremony to be held at Amani National Stadium,” said Mr Aboud adding
that the function may last until mid-day.
He said that all the arrangements for
the ‘big event’ were almost over including preparations by the security
and defence forces that have been having parade rehearsals.
President-elect Dr Shein from Chama Cha
Mapinduzi (CCM) won the Sunday election after scooping 91.4 per cent of
the more than 300,000 votes, beating his other 13 rivals including his
would-be main challenger who opted to boycott.
CCM also won all the 54 constituency
seats, as its members and fans celebrate the victory. President Dr John
Magufuli was among the first people to congratulate Dr Shein and CCM
members in Zanzibar.
