Makonda wants Dar problems solved

NEWLY appointed Dar es Salaam Regional Commissioner (RC), Mr Paul Makonda, has given an ultimatum of one day to heads of the city based public institutions to submit reports pointing out challenges facing their establishments.

Mr Makonda issued the directive in the city yesterday when he was speaking to heads of public institutions, saying that the reports should be submitted to him by today so thst he addresses the challenges they face.
“I wish to express my gratitude to President John Magufuli for appointing me to the post of RC,” said Mr Makonda at an event which was also attended by district commissioners (DCs) and District Executive Directors (DEDs).
Mr Makonda said residents of Dar es Salaam were facing a number of challenges including scarcity of water and land disputes. He added that he would also work on challenges that afflict public institutions.
He expressed gratitude to the former Dar es Salaam RC, Mr Saidi Meck Sadiki, for receiving and enlightening him when he was appointed Kinondoni District Commissioner (DC). “I have learnt many critical matters from him (Mr Sadiki) which have helped me to be appointed to the post of RC,” he said.
Mr Makonda called upon public officials to cooperate when executing their duties in order speed up regional development. He stressed that public officials should support President Magufuli’s motto of ‘Hapa Kazi Tu’ by working hard.
On his part, the Ilala DC, Mr Raymond Mushi, hailed Mr Makonda for being appointed RC. He urged the heads of public institutions to accord him maximum cooperation
