THE High Court, Moshi Zone, has given former Tanzania Labour Party (TLP), Vunjo constituency parliamentary aspirant, Mr Agustino Lyatonga Mrema, 12 days (effective today) to file an amended petition as the previous one had mistakes.
High Court Assistant Registrar, Mr
Bernard Mpepo said the court has also ordered Mr Mrema to amend the
relief in the petition to conform with section 112 of the Electoral Act.
“The court has also ordered Mrema to
file the amended petition with 12 from the date of this ruling as the
law stipulates,” he said. Mrema filed the petition last year to
challenge the victory of Vunjo Member of Parliament, Mr James Mbatia of
NCCR-Mageuzi.
