Ford Kenya leaders have accused President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto of insincerity in the fight against corruption.
Party leader Moses Wetang’ula said the Government had resorted to tactics meant to make Kenyans feel that it is determined to combat the vice.
He said the recent Cabinet reshuffle was part of the strategy.
The leaders said the persistent voter bribery claims against Mr Wetang’ula were a diversionary tactic.
“The Government has tried to tackle only a fraction of corruption cases. There is no commitment to handling other cases, including the one on the Eurobond,” said Mr Wetang’ula, who is also the Bungoma senator. He spoke during a burial at Kiminini in Trans Nzoia on Saturday.
The Cord co-principal said the Jubilee coalition is hell-bent on curtailing his political career through hook and crook to achieve its strategy of winning over Luhya voters.
“The war against me has to do with my interest in occupying the highest office in the land.”
Kiminini MP Chris Wamalwa claimed there is a plot within the national government to ensure Luhya politicians who are close to it are crowned political kingpins despite the wishes of locals.
