The Director of Public Prosecutions Keriako Tobiko has directed the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations to probe the mounting Eurobond fraud allegations.
"I am informed that your respective agencies have commenced and are undertaking investigations into the matter. This is therefore to direct you to interrogate, record statements, and obtain evidence from all parties concerned and forward the completed file to my office.." the DPP said in a letter to the EACC chief executive Halakhe Waqo and Criminal Investigations boss Ndegwa Muhoro on Wednesday.
Cord leader Raila Odinga Tuesday urged firms that were involved in the Eurobond auction to release details of their transactions.
The Cord leader said Treasury has failed to account for more than half of the Eurobond proceeds.
