Beggars ordered out of D’Salaam streets

DAR ES SALAAM Regional Commissioner (RC), Mr Saidi Meck Sadiki, has directed all municipal councils directors to remove all beggars because they contribute towards pollution.

Addressing journalists in Dar es Salaam Mr Sadick said that the move will help on the implementation of the directives that were made by President John Magufuli that the 54th independence celebrations will be marked by conducting cleaning exercises.
“I am not saying that the beggars are dirty, what I am saying is that the beggars leave in dirty conditions and they contribute towards pollution because they use paper bags as toilets and leave them scattered around,” Mr Sadick said.
He directed other authorities to collaborate with the government in ensuring that the campaign is successful as planned in order to prevent diseases He said everyone in the region should be ready to implement the directives from the president because it has been made for the betterment of the country.
Mr Sadik added that the cleaning exercise will be progressive to ensure better health for all people. He also ordered government officials to oversee the cleaning exercise in their districts in order to prevent communicable disease.
Tanzania last month saw a major cholera outbreak with nearly 5,000 cases recorded and dozens of deaths reported, according to officials and the World Health Organization
