DAILY NEWS Reporterr
THE Fifth Phase Government is strong in its resolve to ensure that revenue collected is routed to serving all Tanzanians and not a group of a few individuals, the Prime Minister, Mr Majaliwa Kassim Majaliwa, has said.
“The government has started with countering revenue loss in the government by avoiding unnecessary loss or use of public funds. Our aim is that whatever is collected as revenue should be routed to service basic issues for all Tanzanians and not for a few individuals,” he said.
Opening the celebrations to mark the 20 years of the African Inland Church (AIC) in Tanzania in Dar es Salaam on behalf of President John Magufuli, the PM said the government has resolved to deal with all vices and challenges that hurt Tanzanians, especially the ordinary people.
‘’There are people who think we cannot do that. I ask them to discard such thoughts. There are those who think this is a government of laid back people, let them also drop that thought,” he said amid ululations from the audience,’’ Mr Majaliwa told the audience.
He asked all Tanzanians to support them in their plans and war on what disturbs the country. He asked members to pray for the government in performing for Tanzanians. He asked them to pray for leaders so that they perform everything guided by ethics.
He asked the church to continue building a group of individuals with ethics and who can serve the country in various arenas of life as they would help society cut off challenges that face the country today.
Earlier, the Bishop of the church, Bishop Silas Kezakubi, said the church would continue to pray for President John Magufuli and his team to have wisdom in execution of their duties.
He said they were certain that the 5th phase government has good intentions of serving the public and they would continue to pray for them to do so with high sense of ethics.
The Bishop for the church’s Kibaha diocese, Bishop Charles Salalah, said they pray for the government because it services the same group of people that they do serve, but in different angles.
He said the church preaches good ethics and conscience and that they also believe that development comes through people working hard. Regarding ethics, he urged parents to focus more on parenting and building of their families founded on values
