A senior expatriate working at East Africa Breweries Limited (EABL) recently accused of racially abusing Kenyan workers at the firm has relocated to another country.
EABL said that its Group Finance Director Tracey Barnes has been reassigned other duties within the conglomerate.
NEW APPOINTMENTS
Business Daily’s columnist Ms Carol Musyoka has been appointed to the EABL board as a director.
Dr
Geiszl Gyorgy who joined Diageo in 2006 as Finance Director in charge
of the conglomerate’s interests in Russia and Eastern Europe becomes the
Group Finance Director.
The changes were also
communicated to the Nairobi Stock Exchange and signed by EABL’s
Secretary Ruth Theddesia Ngobi in a letter addressed to NSE’s chief
executive Geoffrey Odundo.
Ms
Barnes was recently grilled by immigration officials after some former
employees wrote a protest letter alleging racial abuse by her.
She allegedly set extremely high targets for them to meet.
They
accused her of using their failure to meet the extremely high targets
to have them fired, and then hiring foreigners in their place.
But EABL strongly denied the allegations while the immigrations department is yet to make its decision known on the matter.
