President Kenyatta has received praise for his efforts to create an enabling environment for foreign investment.
Speaking
during the just-concluded Milken Institute Global Conference in Los
Angeles on Wednesday, Rwandan President Paul Kagame and former British
Prime Minister Tony Blair said Mr Kenyatta is one of the African leaders
determined to remove hurdles that discourage direct foreign investment.

They, however, noted that the continent has not done well in intra-national trade.
“President
Uhuru Kenyatta is one in a new generation of African leaders who are
focused on delivering, not only on ideology but also on getting things
done,” said Mr Blair.
For his part, President Kagame
said: “I am working with my brother President Kenyatta to make sure that
our region is as attractive to foreign investors as possible.”
Mr Kenyatta, who had been listed as one of the key speakers at the conference, did not make it to the forum.
He nevertheless addressed the gathering via a video link.
