MultiChoice appoints former Airtel boss Walingo Chiruyi general manager

Former Airtel Tanzania chief commercial officer Walingo Chiruyi has been appointed the general manager for MultiChoice Kenya Limited.
Mr Chiruyi takes over from Danny Mucira who left the pay-TV firm in September and will report to regional director East Africa Stephen Isaboke.
Finance manager Janet Oyugi has been holding the position in an acting capacity.  
“It is an enormously exciting challenge as I have huge passion and dedication to the Kenyan market,” said Mr Chiruyi in a statement.
“MultiChoice also remains committed to this country and I hope to continue to serve our subscribers by upholding the highest standards of customer service quality and delivery.”
Prior to joining Airtel Tanzania Mr Chiruyi served as head of sales at Safaricom.
He holds a Masters of Science degree in marketing from Makerere University, MBA in strategic management and a Bachelor of Commerce a Bachelor of Commerce degree in marketing from the University of Nairobi.
