Facebook is targeting a bigger share of Kenya’s digital market by working with big companies to raise awareness of their brands.
The global tech company’s Creative Accelerator programme was
announced on Monday, eyeing brands and agencies in Kenya and other
high growth countries in the region.
“Since Africa is mobile-first and in many cases
mobile-only, we are particularly excited about reaching its massive base
of feature and smartphone users with targeted marketing,” said Fergus
O’Hare creative director of Facebook Creative Shop.
Facebook is working with seven companies in
high-growth countries on the continent including Kenya and South Africa
as well as India, Indonesia, and Turkey.
