The Citizen’ shines

Arusha.The Citizen writers operating here once again dominated the media awards by the Tanzania Horticultural Association (Taha) in commemoration of the 10th anniversary since the association was formed.
Zephania Ubwani, Patty Magubira and Adam Ihucha were among ten Arusha-based journalists who were awarded for consistent reporting on horticulture, one of the fastest growing economic sectors in the country. All of them write for Mwananchi Communications Limited (MCL), the publisher of Mwananchi, The Citizen and MwanaSpoti.
The journalists were prized during a ceremony held on Thursday evening at the Mt Meru Hotel and the awarding coincided with a conference in which stakeholders in the industry took stock of the achievements made and challenges facing the sector.
Mr Colman Ngalo, the first chairperson of Taha and prominent advocate based here, awarded the prizes. The Citizen, is published by MCL, a subsidiary of the Nation Media Group (NMG).
Mr Ubwani and Magubira are staff writers,  while Mr Ihucha is a correspondent.
