the last General Election.
Court of Appeal judges
Mohammed Warsame, Agnes Murgor and Patrick Kiage Wednesday granted a
request by the International Centre for Policy and Conflict and the
International Commission of Jurists to stop the claim against them until
their appeal against the award is determined.
“This is
an arguable appeal and as such, we allow the request to stop further
demand for costs until it is heard and determined,” the judges said.
Last
year, the lobby groups challenged the pair’s integrity to participate
in the elections as candidates, citing their cases at the International
Criminal Court in The Hague.
However, the High Court dismissed the petition and ordered them to pay the costs of the suit.
