Kakamega Deputy Speaker Cleophas Malala has been suspended from the County Assembly for eight sittings for disrupting proceedings during debate on a censure motion against him.
The deputy Speaker was suspended alongside Edward Shivembe, the Isukha West Member of the County Assembly.

The two found themselves in trouble for engaging in unruly behaviour in the House.
In his ruling, Speaker Morris Buluma said Mr Malala and Mr Shivembe had been suspended for engaging in “unparliamentary” conduct.
The two MCAs will not be paid allowances during the suspension.
SCUFFLE IN COUNTY ASSEMBLY
Last week, proceedings at the County Assembly degenerated into chaos after MCAs backing the removal of Mr Malala from office and those supporting him engaged in a scuffle.
A fight erupted after one of the members accused Mr Malala of hiring “hooligans” to take part in demonstrations, disrupting business in Kakamega town.
An attempt by the MCAs to reintroduce the motion was dealt a blow Wednesday after Mr Malala obtained orders blocking them from proceeding with the debate to have him impeached.
Mr Malala was on Monday charged in court for incitement and setting on fire property belonging to the Winners Chapel church.
He was released on a Sh100,000 bail, and the case set for hearing on August 21.
