VIEWS: Critics say reshuffle was a familiar recycling exercise

In Summary
  • Others feel that some of the appointees are potential good performers, on the strength of their impressive bios.

Some readers have criticised the President for retaining ministers who had been sharply accused of being under-performers, and that, therefore, not much can be expected from the re-crafted Cabinet. Others feel that some of the appointees are potential good performers, on the strength of their impressive bios.

Because the President has retained the ministers who were accused of lacking leadership credentials due to their under-performing and failed to address chronic problems facing their ministries, we shouldn’t expect much to come out of the new Cabinet.
For, in my  opinion, what has been done is just re-cycling, or let us put it this way... old wine in a  new bottle.

Thomas Mambo, Singida.
It’s very unfortunate that much of the citizens’ feelings in Tanzania are neglected and not taken very seriously; the appointing authority doesn’t bother to scrutinise them carefully. May be we need to dig deeper  to know  what’s up.
Nothing new  should be expected from the new Cabinet, for how can some individuals who are lacking the requisite credentials  be seen as the best in advising the President on behalf of Tanzanians who are complaining  about them ?

In my view, the latest Cabinet  was well crafted; if  I were asked to rate the exercise, I would give Mr President 80 per cent.

If I were to make an assessment, then I think  that, at some point, the President has done it right.
I checked on the bios of the ministers, especially the new ones,  and found that at least they have been allocated to their respective fields of study and training; that’s what basically matters.
