Citibank has elevated two of its Kenyan employees to top positions within the group.
Mr Michael Mutiga now occupies the seat of managing director of the financial services firm heading the corporate and investment banking section for Citi Kenya.

On the other hand, Ms Rose Agutu is now the managing director, Africa Operations & Technology.
The promotions further underscore the group’s commitment to Kenya as a market and Africa as a region.

In her new job, Ms Agutu will handle planning and execution of Africa operations and technology strategy.

She joined Citi as an executive trainee in Nairobi in 1985 and has been senior country operations officer for South Africa, Uganda and Senegal.

She was operations and technology head in East Africa in 2007 prior to her promotion.
Mr Mutiga joined Citi in October 2006 as a director in the bank’s South Africa-based Corporate Finance division up-to August 2011. He was transferred to Kenya as head of the Corporate Bank.
