Three armed thugs were Saturday morning gunned down by police at Nairobi's Uthiru area while a fourth accomplice escaped.
The four had been trailed by police from Eastleigh to Uthiru where a shootout ensued leading to the death of the three.
Dagoretti police boss Mathew Wiyo said one suspect escaped with a gun and police were pursuing him.
“The three others had three homemade guns, six ATM cards and several rolls of bhang,” said Mr Wiyo.
In another incident, a man was seriously injured when unknown number of armed men attacked him on Mombasa road during a traffic snarl-up.
The suspects hit the victim who was in his vehicle on the head after they demanded money from him.
However, they managed to flee with other valuables after traffic police came to the rescue of the victim.
The victim was rushed to hospital for treatment.
