NBC (MD) Mizinga Melu (R) greets one of the customers who visited the corporate bank on Thursday in Dsm during the climax of the long month campaign dubbed the 'NBC's Customer Service'.
In a bid to bring its services closer to customers, the National Bank of Commerce (NBC) has promised to implement third party networks so as to allow customer access the ATM banking services in areas other than the bank’s premises.

This was said recently by NBC’s Head of Customer Experience, Jane Dogani in response to a reporter’s inquiry at the end of the month-long campaign dubbed “Customer Service Month” at the bank’s headquarters in Dar es Salaam.

Dogani said among the complaints and opinions that were raised by the customers was the issue of the third party ATM network. The bank has agreed to work on the customer’s request and is still conceptualising it, he said.

“We’ve given priority to the raised issue of third party networks, we put it at the frontline in implementation, at the moment we are working on it since our customers are using VISA card. We highly value our customers and as such we are always looking for ways to listen to their advice on what it is that we can do to improve their experience with us,” she said.

Dongani said the bank is committed to meeting customers’ expectations by providing more personalized services as well as adding more human resources.

On the campaign, NBC’s Managing Director Mizinga Melu said it was aimed at providing not only incomparable customer service to its customers, but also take time to know the customers and collect their feedback on areas of improvement as well as areas of satisfaction which could be replicated all across.

“We put our customers first, ahead of everything we do, we understand that they have placed their trust in us and as such we must deliver to their expectations.

Anyone who can give you their money to safe-keep for them has shown you an incomparable amount of respect and placed a huge responsibility on your shoulders,” she said.

The campaign which was run across the country involved among other activities, providing refreshments to customers at branches, rolling out the red carpet across branches so customers get the VIP treatment.
