Acting National Social Security Fund managing trustee Hope Mwashumbe has been replaced barely five months after taking office.
Labour Cabinet Secretary Kazungu Kambi said Ms Mwashumbe’s contract had expired and she had been replaced by the fund’s finance manager Richard Langat.
The changes come at a time when the NSSF is implementing three major projects worth Sh100 billion and observers say this could be the reason for the frequent turnover of managers. (READ: NSSF floats new tender for Hazina expansion)

MAJOR PARASTATALS
Ms Mwashumbe replaced managing trustee Tom Odongo in July who was removed by Mr Kambi as the Jubilee administration moved to take control of major parastatals.
Mr Odongo, however, challenged his removal in court and a ruling is expected next Friday. (READ: Kambi, NSSF lose bid to block suit)
During court proceedings, it emerged that Mr Odongo was dismissed partly for allegedly being too open with the media on the fund’s investment plans. (READ: Sacking of top public workers alarms PSC)
