Government Employees Provident Fund (GEPF)
The donation aimed at helping the police force with computers that would be used to keep documents and simplify manual work.
Speaking to reporters during the donation at the weekend, the fund’s director of marketing and operations, Anselim Peter, said that GEPF decided to donate the items because the police force was one of its main stakeholders.
He said the fund recognized the importance of the police force and therefore it was the duty of the Fund to show a hand of support to its main stakeholders as part of its social responsibilities.
Receiving the donation on behalf of IGP Said Mwema, Chief of Administration and Resource Management in the police force, Tobias Andengenye, thanked the GEPF for the moral and material support saying apart from keeping various documents of the police force, but they will help to simplify work.
“This is a very big donation, and I am sure the computers will help us reduce manual work and keep our documents easily and in safe manner” he said.
GEPF is a social security fund providing social protection to its members using provident system approaches.
Currently, the Fund has two schemes namely Compulsory Scheme (CS) and Voluntary Scheme (VSRS).
