National Social Security Fund officials will
tomorrow appear before a parliamentary committee to explain the abrupt
sacking of managing trustee Tom Odongo and his replacement with
corporation secretary Hope Mwashumbe.
“The changes at the NSSF have come barely three weeks after the fund and the Cabinet Secretary assured us at a Mombasa retreat that all was well. We want to seek answers to this turn of events,” said committee chairman David Were.

The labour and social welfare committee said the NSSF board and management will also be required to explain the proposed contributions from domestic servants.
The officials were set to appear before the committee last Thursday but Ms Mwashumbe asked for more time to prepare for the session. Mr Were said the sessions would be held Tuesday and Wednesday.
Mr Were said the committee would also seek to know how the board would manage deductions from domestic workers.
