BESIDES wounds from frequent beatings and other brutal actions, medics at Muhimbili National Hospital (MNH) have diagnosed a three-year old boy of Rectal Prolapse problem.

Usually, the problem is caused by frequent diarrhoea or constipation for not less than two weeks, according to the Pediatric Surgeon, Dr Mwajabu Mbaga.
However, the Surgeon clarified that when the cause is diarrhoea or constipation, Rectal Prolapse exposition ends up within a week after the problem (diarrhoea or constipation) is over.
“Just as you heard from the boy’s mother talking about the family history, this boy needs more examination to determine if there were other brutal acts like defilement against him,” said Dr Mbaga. She said more medical tests will take place after the boy recovers from the current external injuries.
The ‘Daily News’ has been reporting about the twins who were found experiencing brutality from their maternal grandmother at Kitunda Kati in Ilala District in Dar es Salaam to the extent of the boy almost losing his private parts which began putrefying at the time of rescue.
His twin sister was also found walking with difficulties due to frequent beatings. Both children have been admitted to MNH, facing malnutrition in common, on top of other external injuries.
The mother was in fear that her son might not regain his manhood but the doctors assured that he will get back to normal situation as initial investigations showed that the minor faced only serious external injuries.
The accused Ms Marry Damian is detained at Stakishari Police Station pending accomplishment of the investigations for her case number STK/ RB/7619/2018.
