The Director of Public
Prosecution Keriako Tobiko has said no one can direct him to prosecute
former Prime Minister Raila Odinga over alleged incitement of the
public.
A statement sent to newsrooms
on Tuesday said aggrieved parties should file a formal complaint at his
office as he does not act "on ultimatum issued at political rallies or
barazas."
"The DPP wishes to make it
clear that under Article 157 of the Constitution, his Office is
independent and not subject to the directions, control or supervision of
any person, " the statement read.
Any aggrieved parties should file a formal complaint with the police or the DPP office, it added.
Mr
Odinga came under fire after his statement at a rally in Kisumu last
weekend claiming that the military rigged the March 4 General Election.
