financial institutions for their collaborative efforts in serving workers and the successful organisation of the International Workers’ Day celebrations.The Labour Day was nationally held at the Sheikh Amri Abeid Stadium in Arusha, on Wednesday.
The event graced by Vice-President Dr Philip Mpango , on behalf of President Samia Suluhu Hassan and attended by various government, religious, and workers’ union leaders was another annual occasion to uphold workers’ rights and improve working conditions.

In his remarks, TUCTA president Tumaini Nyamhokya noted that the efforts of the financial institutions and other stakeholders in organising the celebrations through sponsorship in the country in teaming up to organise such events is a display of how they care for workers’ welfare.
“Our collaboration with these institutions is not limited to the preparations for this event but also includes various financial services they provide to our members, such as deposit accounts and diverse loan options. We are truly grateful for their continuous support,” he pointed out.
NBC Director of Retail Banking Elibariki Masuke said that the bank has a long-standing tradition of sponsoring the celebrations and recognising the importance of workers as a crucial pillar in the bank’s prosperity.
“Our collaboration with the workers is further strengthened by the dedicated services we offer, taking into account their needs, including safeguarding their deposits through various account options and providing them with short and long-term loans without collateral,” said the banker.
Mr Masuke noted that it’s their pool of professional, innovative and highlevel efficiency of his colleagues that has attracted more customers, including workers from various organisations and institutions, who consider the bank as their crucial provider of financial services, hence, stability and growth of the bank to progress.
