DAR ES SALAAM: PUMA Energy has said it is committed to promoting environmental sustainability and better health of the people by adopting low-carbon and renewable energy solutions to help mitigate climate change.

Puma Energy Tanzania General Manager Ms Fatma Abdallah made the remarks in Dar es Salaam at the weekend after organising an Iftar for its customers and stakeholders.

“This initiative is supporting government strides in advocating for clean energy cooking and Puma Energy in the country,” she said.

She said by transitioning to clean energy cooking solutions, communities in Tanzania can make a significant impact on reducing carbon emissions and combating climate change.

“Ramadan is a special period for Muslims, where fasting, prayer and acts of compassion bring us closer together. Let us seize this opportunity to reaffirm our continued commitment to the progress and prosperity of our communities in the country and our entire nation,” she said.

Stressing the common goal of bringing together all Muslims during Ramadan, on behalf of Sheikh Walid Alhad, Dar es Salaam Sheikh, Sheikh of Temeke District, Zairai Mkoyogole, noted that the holy month is an opportunity to strengthen love and empathy not only among the Muslim community but among all people.

“In the spirit of this blessed month, let us reach out to those in need, extend a helping hand, and foster unity within our communities. By practising compassion and generosity, we not only fulfil our religious duties but also contribute to a more harmonious and caring society. I have observed Puma Energy Tanzania’s commendable corporate social responsibility activities and I would urge you to continue with your programmes to benefit more marginalised communities,” he said.
