Zanzibar: ORGANISERS of Sauti za Busara prominent annual pan-African music event held every February in Stone Town, Zanzibar have announced the preparations for the next big event, which is scheduled to take place in February, 2025.
This year’s event was concluded two months ago giving an opportunity to organisers to plan for the next move. The festival, which will take place from February 14th to 16th, 2025 at the Old Fort, Stone Town, will feature a lineup of talented musicians, artists, and speakers from around the world. Registrations are now open for artists who want to perform on the mega stage in Stone Town, Unguja.
The call for artists was open from Monday (April 1st, 2024) and concludes on July 31st, 2024. The festival celebrates the rich tapestry of African music and its diaspora, and they are calling for up-and-coming and established artists to submit their applications.
The festival will showcase talent, cultural heritage, and musical passion on the world stage.
They are looking for original music with African roots, music that empowers women, fresh voices and rising stars, music with a message, and live performances. This prestigious festival offers a unique platform for African musicians to connect with a global audience.
During the event the attendees are able to experience unique performances and explore a variety of interactive activities, making the festival an unforgettable event. The organisers of the Sauti za Busara festival in Zanzibar are looking for performers for their 22nd edition.
The festival is one of Africa’s best music festivals, and for over two decades, it has brought together artists from all over the continent, showcasing a diverse range of musical styles and traditions.
In the last season festival that took part this year featured over 200 artists, including 25 music bands from Tanzania and other African countries.
Thousands of music fans from around the world attended the festival, which took place from February 9th to 11th. Among the artists included Made Kuti and Selmor Mtukudzi daughter of Oliver Mtukudzi.
The 22nd Sounds of Wisdom festival promises to be even more exciting than this year’s event.
