COUNCILORS in Nkasi District of Rukwa Region have sacked six civil servants, alleged of possessing phony academic certificates, absenteeism and thievery.
The decision was reached during a full council meeting held at Namanyere Town, recently.
The Nkasi District Council Lawyer, Mr
Welline Njawike, said Ms Agripina Sangu, a nurse grade II; Mr Hilali
Mbonye , senior clinical officer; Ms Dafroza Mwanakatwe, a nurse
assistant grade II; Ms Joyce Tukwesele who is a nurse grade II and Mr
Theophil Chinsi, a pharmacist were sacked for possessing forged
education documents.
Mr Njawike further said that Paramawe
Ward Officer, Mr Joseph Katindi was fired for serious absenteeism as he
has not reported to work since July 31, this year, without informing his
employer.
He further said that Mr Kitindi was also
accused for stealing 395, 000/- being payment for a water project. The
Nkasi District Executive Director, Mr Julius Kaondo, said the head of
departments will work hand in hand with councilors for the betterment of
the council and its citizens at large.
On the other hand, the Nkasi District
Council Chairman, Mr Sumuni Mwanakulya, urged councilors to closely
supervise the collection of domestic revenues in their areas.
