Tissue and hygiene products maker,
Chandaria Industries, has entered the Malawian market raising its Africa
presence to 11 countries.
Group Chief Executive
Darshan Chandaria on Thursday said the expansion provided its Kenya and
Tanzania factories a new push to meet the growing demand for their
products, mainly processed from recycled waste papers.
Chandaria
Industries on Thursday received the ‘Superbrands’ status, which
confirms recognition of their products across various markets in East
and Southern Africa.
“We are keen to grow this Kenyan
product as a regional brand that is able compete with global brands at
the regional level,” he said.
Superbrands East Africa
Project Director Jawad Jaffer welcomed the recognition, saying 1,000
consumers interviewed identified Chandaria as a brand that had
penetrated regional markets-- creating thousands of jobs.
Mr Jaffer said Chandaria’s wide range of products fitting various income groups made it a household name.
Superbrands
will include Chandaria’s name in its global checklist of respected
brands as well as have a Youtube video made and posted on its site,
