Bus claims 12 lives in Njombe

TWELVE people died while 28 others injured on Monday night after a bus they were traveling veered off the road and overturned in Njombe.

The accident, involved a New Force Company bus, occurred around 1930 hours after the driver failed to control the vehicle due to high speed.
Njombe Regional Police Commander (RPC), Prudenciana Protas said the injured persons were sent for treatment in Njombe and Ruvuma regional hospitals.
Some of the injured person were treated and discharged, but still 12 are hospitalized…three in Ruvuma and the rest in Njombe,” RPC Protas said. He said four are admitted in Njombe Hospital sustaining life threatening injuries and are in serious condition.
