THE government has pledged to continue working closely with the media to uphold ethics and professionalism.
The pledge was made by the Director of
the Tanzania Information Services - Maelezo, Mr Assah Mwambene, in his
congratulatory message to the newly elected leadership of Tanzania
Editors’ Forum (TEF).
“The government recognises the crucial
role played by the media in fostering peace and tranquility as well as
development of the country, “ observed Mr Mwambene.
He said the government had faith and
high hopes in the ability of the new TEF leadership to abide by
professional ethics and support the government’s efforts to steer the
country ahead.
The TEF election held in Morogoro
yesterday, saw seasoned journalist Mr Theopil Makunga voted the new
chairman while Mr Deodatus Balile won the Vice-Chairman pos
