YOUTH have been urged to use opportunities offered under a special programme known as ‘Airtel Fursa’ which aims at helping entrepreneurs to improve business skills.
Speaking during a seminar in Dodoma last
week, the College of Business Education (CBE) Dodoma Campus lecturer,
Dr Robert Mashenene, said the youth should work hard and use available
opportunities. Dr Mashenene is an expert in business and
entrepreneurship.
“You have to come with different means
and ideas that will give you employment chances and improve the nation’s
economy instead of complaining,” he told the youth who attended the
seminar.
He said Tanzanians should not think that
those who have succeeded through Airtel Fursa programme were previously
prepared and insisted they should not hesitate to apply for training.
Another CBE Dodoma Campus lecturer, Mr
Chacha Magasi, asked elite and other youth to be self employed by
creating different businesses. “Go and knock the doors at Airtel, ask
them to train you to reduce unemployment problem in Tanzania,” said Mr
Magasi.
Some of 220 entrepreneurs who attended
the seminar and training said the seminar had opened up their minds
especially on self-employment issues. “Now I know there is no need of
waiting to be employed. From now I will not stop working on my idea of
being a farmer. I will also start fish farming here in Dodoma,” said
Nichoraus Sanga.
