Nairobi’s Hemmingways hotel is the fifth best hotel in Africa and the most frequented by the world’s multi-millionaires in East Africa, reveals new survey.
A market survey by South African based neworldwealth.com said the world's super-rich preferred the Karen-based 45-room facility for its serenity and location.
TOP HOTELS
Morocco dominated the top five rated hotels with Marrakech's La Mamounia the most popular in Africa and Royal Mansour also in the same city being third.
Tanzania's Ngorongoro Crater Lodge beat Kenya's Hemmingways to second place.
Even though South Africa dominated the top ten list with four hotels, its top most hotel the 12 Apostles Hotel and Spa in Cape Town was the fourth popular among the world's millionaires visiting the continent.
CONNECTING HUB
The last twelve months saw 32,000 multi-millionaires visiting different cities in Africa, with Nairobi receiving a large chunk of investors while others made a stopover on their way to other African cities proving Nairobi’s growing status as a connecting hub.
Multi-millionaires visiting Kenya said they came for business in Nairobi while others came as tourists and ended up at the Maasai Mara Game Reserve.
Nairobi’s future looks bright, said the report, especially the hospitality industry as investments in gas, oil and infrastructure are a crowd puller for investors and other professionals tasked with implementation of the multi-billion projects.
TOP TEN HOTELS
Other hotels in the top ten category include Zambia’s Royal Livingstone, Egypt’s Four Seasons in Sharm El Sheikh, and South Africa’s Oyster Box, Umhlanga, Lost City and Sun City, and North West and Cape Grace.
