Deputy Minister for Labour and Employment Dr. Makongoro Mahanga.
Speaking during the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding
(MoU) between the company’s management and Tanzania Union of Industrial
and Commercial Workers (TUICO), in Mwanza mid-week, TBL Managing
Director, Roberto Jarrin said such taxes hinders the firm development
and the public at large.
“There are too many taxes that we pay to municipal authorities on a
regular basis and this holds back the development of the brewer in the
region”, he said.
Deputy Minister for Labour and Employment Dr. Makongoro Mahanga who
was on the inspection tour of the firm commended the company for its
investment that has provided employment opportunities to many
Tanzanians.
He said TBL efforts should be imitated by other investors and in
order to put more Tanzanians on jobs that will contribute to the
country’s development.
According to him, the firm’s success had resulted from its listing
at the Dar es Salaam stock market that has enabled people to buy shares
raising its investment capital.
TBL is a Tanzania based company principally engaged in the
production, distribution and sale of malt beer, non-alcoholic malt
beverages and alcoholic fruit beverages, and recently scored first
position, for best products in African continent.
