P-Unit win big at Channel O Africa Music Video Awards

Kenya's group P-Unit bagged two awards on Saturday night in the 10th edition of the prestigious Channel O Africa Music Video Awards. Held in Johannesburg, South Africa, P-Unit, with their song 'You Guy', took home the awards in the Most Gifted East Africa video and Most Gifted Raga Dancehall categories.

As they accepted the awards on stage, they thanked all their fans for supporting and voting for them.
Other Kenya artistes who had been nominated and attended the awards include Victoria Kimani, STL and Sauti Sol. Kenya had a record 10 nominations in the awards.

Victoria Kimani was among the artistes who performed at the event. Others included Khuli Chana, AKA and Mafikizolo from South Africa, P-Square, Burna Boy and Wizkid from Nigeria, Lizha James from Mozambique among others.

The star-studded awards were hosted by rappers Naeto C from Nigeria and AKA from South Africa.
Other notable awards included the Special Recognition award, which went to Nigeria twin brothers P-Square. They were recognised for taking African music to the world stage, where they have done several collaborations with top American artistes.

Other East Africans who had been nominated and attended the awards included Navio, Radio and Weasel from Uganda. Tanzania was represented by rapper AY.
