A joint statement issued yesterday by the Zanzibar Commission for Tourism and Grassroots Traveller announced that between November 25 and 30, officials of PR Agency, a boutique based in Dubai- Grace & Garbo, will be in the Isles to record Zanzibar’s attractions, which that will be showcased in (UAE) and (GCC) countries.
The main objective of the work dubbed ‘Destination Zanzibar’ is to open the opportunity for the Isles tourism firm to enter the new markets of UAE as well as other GCC countries, it said.
According to the Permanent Secretary in the Isles Ministry of Information, Culture, Tourism and Sports, Issa Mlingoti , the UAE media will also get the opportunity to explore the beauty of Zanzibar and inform prospective clientele who wish to visit East Africa’s biggest islands.
“We understand the visit will be a good opportunity for Zanzibar as an emerging tourist destination within the region and worldwide to expose her tourism products and services,” he said in the statement.
Grassroots Traveller’s Managing Director Hafsa Mbamba called on tourism stakeholders to avail themselves and their services for the lifestyle media opportunity that will be showcased in the Gulf states.
The firm has partnered with Grace & Garbo for the promotion drive, which has been endorsed by the Ministry of Information, Culture, Tourism and Sports of Zanzibar as well as the Isles Commission for Tourism.
According to Mbamba, ‘Destination Zanzibar’ under Grassroots Traveller’s offers first hand, authentic and untamed experiences of the isles.
“It offers opportunities for the local travel industry to meet with reputable and travel related media. It is a forum to network and showcase Zanzibar as a destination and gain media spotlight through and through,” she said.
She added that participating tourism related stakeholders in the event will benefit from strategic exposure, effective business leads and inside media access.
She disclosed that ‘Destination Zanzibar’ under Grassroots Traveller’s banner holds exclusive events that provide a forum for participants to interact and find synergies that facilitate business with one another.
