Who We Are


At HakiPensheni our goal is simple – we want to see employees and retired people, especially the poorest and those living in harder to reach their social security rights, have access to social security funds; The right of all people in need to an adequate level of income support which is protected by law; The right of people to be treated with respect and dignity by social security regulatory body (Centre link) and those administering the Social Security system; The right to accessible information about Social Security rights and entitlements, obligations and responsibilities;  The right to receive prompt and appropriate service and Social Security payments without delay;  The right to a free, independent, informal, efficient and fair appeal system;  The right to an independent complaints system; and   The right to independent advice and representation. and as a result of access to these services, move themselves out of poverty. 

We envision a world where the poor, insured person and retired people including their family members have broken the generational chain of poverty and lead lives of respect, dignity and opportunity. HakiPensheni Foundation, a nonprofit organization headquartered in Dar es salaam, Tanzania with an office in Dare s salaam, was founded in 2010 by Christian Gaya, to help the poor, employees and retired people and their families to meet their needs countrywide.

We inspire to become a leader in the fight against poverty in Sub Saharan Africa. Our cutting-edge programs and resources aims to help millions of employees, retired, poor people, mostly women and their children, improve their lives. HakiPensheni Foundation will collaborate with local organizations and allies around the globe to provide products and services that allow them to: 1) have an adequate level of income support which is protected by law; 2) be treated with respect and dignity by social security regulatory body and those administering the Social Security system; 3) have an accessible information about Social Security rights and entitlements, obligations and responsibilities;  4) receive prompt and appropriate service and Social Security payments without delay;  5) have a free, independent, informal, efficient and fair appeal system;  6) have an independent complaints system; and 7) have independent advice and representation. and as a result of access to these services, move themselves out of poverty. 

Reach deeper into employees, retired people and poor communities with social security services; 2) provide an accessible information about Social Security rights and entitlements, obligations and responsibilities among the poor and poorest in harder to reach areas and currently un-served/underserved areas; and 3) measure who is being reached to ensure they are moving out of poverty over time.  Our work is made possible by supporters who share our passion and commitment to tackle the hardest problems through providing an accessible information about Social Security rights and entitlements, obligations and responsibilities aiming to reduce poverty, hardship and inequality in Tanzania support and encouragement to employees and pensioners and Center to take active roles in projects/programs to develop social security and pension as a means of promoting health and alleviating poverty. Directing at trying to make sure that older Tanzanians to have enough money to live on when they are too old to work and to protecting and promoting the retirement security of Tanzania workers, retirees, and their families by: Providing casework advice and assistance to individuals to ensure they can exercise their rights, fulfill their obligations, meet their responsibilities and maximize their entitlements under the Tanzanian Social Security system;
