 Daily News reporter

Dar es Salaam, The Tanzania LPG Association (TZLPGA) marked a significant milestone as it hosted key stakeholders in the LPG sector.

Heralded by the theme: ‘Empowering Through Information: A Dialogue on Tanzania LPG Association Contributions to Clean Energy,’ the event aimed to foster a deeper understanding of TZLPGA’s core vision among media representatives, providing insights into its pivotal role in sustainable development, clean energy efficiency, and socioeconomic progress through the utilization of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG).

Established in 2023, the association comprises six companies involved in the trade of household gas cylinders, including CAMGAS, O-GAS, LAKE GAS, TAIFA GAS, ORYX GAS, MANJI GAS, and PUMA ENERGY.

Speaking to attending journalists, the Director-General of the association, Amos Jackson, was quoted as saying: “We believe that the collection and dissemination of accurate information in this sector will help bring about significant changes in achieving our country’s goal of advancing the use of household gas cylinders. Your presence here will greatly help expand our understanding through your insights as key stakeholders in this sector.”
Amos spoke about the strategies set by the association, stating: “We are committed to expanding the use of this household gas technology in reducing carbon emissions, improving energy efficiency, and facilitating alternative use of clean energy.”
Furthermore, the Chairman of TZLPGA, Benoit Araman, emphasized the importance of maintaining cooperation between stakeholders in the sector and the government. He said: “It is our duty to support the government in ensuring that we bring about a revolution in this household gas sector to eliminate environmental damage caused by charcoal use.”

He said that charcoal is a threat because it contributes to the production of carbon air pollutants that pollute the environment and cause negative climate change effects.

The event was graced by the Director-General of EWURA, Dr. James Andilile, who supported the launch of the campaign to disseminate accurate information on the safe use of gas (LPG) for the economic benefit of the nation as a whole.
TZLPGA has pledged to collaborate with stakeholders in the sector to provide impetus for investors to allocate funds to promote the use of clean energy and other positive impacts that will be beneficial to the energy sector for the development of the entire nation.
