FOUNTAIN Gate Sports Academy has invited a football coach from Denmark to run a one-week football clinic for
youth and coaches.The Danish Coach, Frank Petersen would to develop and scout for talents that can be linked with the international market standard.
The academy’s CEO, Calvin Shaban, said in Dar es Salaam on Tuesday that clinic began on Monday and will climax next Tuesday.
He stated that their main objective is to develop and enhance the various talents found in the country.
“We came up with the idea of getting sports specialists who can help youth grow their talents and believe in their dreams,” said Shaban.
“Coach Petersen will be here for one week and will run different training sessions such as goalkeeping for coaches and a football clinic for youth.”
The academy’s vision is to create a better future for youths with different talents.
“We will make sure we sharpen and develop different talents for the future as we believe it will pay a lot.”
Therefore, by bringing in coaches like Petersen, the academy believes they will be successful in seeing a wide range of sports development in the country, which is loved by many people.
Dennis Joel, the Manager of International Relations at the academy, said that their work is to act as a link bridge between the academy and different international sports experts around the world.
Coach Frank Petersen, who has a Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) license for Goalkeeper Coach with grade A, and B licenses for training, expressed his pleasure in being in Tanzania.
He is looking forward to spreading his knowledge about football to youth and tutors.
“I am happy to be in Tanzania, although it’s not my first time in Africa. I have been in different nations like Mozambique, Nigeria, and Uganda for the past 20 years, so I am very aware of African football,” he said.
Petersen aims to sharpen different talents and teach coaches how to have a great team in Tanzania.
He also commented on African football, saying that, as time goes on, a lot of talent emerges from Africa, and different great footballers are made, which is a great development.
“I think after a few years, Africa will be filled with big footballers who have won respected trophies,” he said.
