Elibariki Ndossi the Head, Investment Banking at Stanbic Bank Tanzania
What does winning the Best Investment Bank award in Tanzania mean
to the Bank and clients?
Elibariki Ndossi - Head, Investment Banking - Stanbic Bank Tanzania: It’s exciting but also rewarding to the efforts across multiple
teams that work together to solution for our clients, not just within Investment Banking, but across various divisions including our support functions. I think it’s commensurate to the effort that the team has put together to be able to support and provide these solutions to our clients. But I think more importantly, we would like to thank our clients who give us the opportunity to actually provide and craft bespoke solutions to meet their needs and requirements. Our clients are at the centre of everything we do, and it is our
priority to provide them with tailored solutions that truly enable them to
achieve their investment needs.
What does this win mean for the common citizen and the country?
So, I think to the extent that we are able to drive and contribute
towards the sectors which are driving growth, the trickle-down effect is
actually quite substantial. This is because the key sectors we play in, such as
the public sector and the private sector, supporting the government and the
state-owned enterprises to conduct the big infrastructure projects that you see
across roads, energy sector, education and health sectors etc, these directly
trickle down to the common citizen. And then on the private sector side, the
investments that we are able to unlock for additional expansions, building
capacities, etcetera, these enable these companies to actually provide better
services and better products and in an efficient manner, such that at least at
the end of the day, the common citizen does get benefits including
direct/indirect employment, availability of quality products and services at
affordable prices and the like.
How does this win show testament to the Stanbic Bank purpose
of driving growth for its clients and Tanzania?
We are privileged as Stanbic Bank Tanzania to take part in driving
the growth of the country and clients, because this is our home and what we do
is provide exceptional services to our clients, to meet our their needs. We
achieve this through extensive cross functional collaborations internally but
also extensive engagement with external Stakeholders including our regulators,
as they are key in making it possible for us to deliver the products and the services
suited to our clients.
As part of the Standard Bank Group, Africa’s largest bank by
assets, and with representation in over 20 African countries, and key financial
markets, our clients have access to local and regional expertise that provides
