Dar es Salaam. Sabora Tented Camp which is one of the Singita Lodges has been named among the 10 most sought-after in Africa by the world’s

super-rich, the 2023 new wealth report has revealed.

The latest 2023 Africa Wealth Report published by Henley & Partners alongside New World Wealth lists the lodge which is part of the Singita Grumeti lodges in Serengeti among the facilities that high-net-worth individuals (HNWI) visiting Africa patronise.

An HNWI is a dollar millionaire whose wealth is $1 million (Sh131 million) or more.

Other lodges in Africa that are most sough-after by the super-rich include South Africa’s Singita Ebony Lodge and Londolozi, Botswana’s Sanctuary Chief’s Camp and Xigera Safari Lodge, Namibia’s Wilderness Damaraland Camp, and Cottar’s 1920s Camp and &Beyond Bateleur Camp Kenya—both located within the Masai Mara National Reserve, One & Only Nyungwe House (Rwanda) and Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp (Uganda).

Singita Sabora Tented Camp has nine self-contained suites that all include private pantries, dining and fitness areas, as well as meditation decks, where guests can rest, relax and immerse themselves in wellness activities like outdoor yoga, while outdoor salas with secluded daybeds overlooking one of Sabora’s two waterholes make for uninterrupted game-viewing.

According to information that The Citizen has obtained, a luxury double tent at Sabora Camp hosts a maximum of two adult guests, each paying a daily rate of Sh6,405,500 ($2,785) whereas children pay Sh3,203,900 ($1,393) per night during peak season.

An attempt to make a booking hit a brick wall because all the rooms were fully booked for the next three weeks, however, the costs come with all meals, beverages and daily game drives.

During the shoulder season, visitors pay Sh5,554,500 ($2,415) per adult per night, whereas a child pays $1,208 (Sh2,778,400) per night.

However, this is not the most expensive of the Singita Lodges, for example at Sasakwa Lodge, a Hillside Suit costs Sh19,320,000 ($8 400) per suite per night, whereas a Three bedroom cottage Sh21 million ($9 135) per cottage per night (1-3 guests) with an additional guest paying Sh7 million ($3 045)per night.

A four bedroom cottage on the other hand at Sasakwa will cost Sh27million per night.
