Dar es Salaam. At least 32 enterprises from China are taking part in this year’s Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF) as the two countries consolidate relations.
They occupy the 300-square meter Pavilion of Shandong, China.
The pavilion is located within Karume International Hall which is organised by the East African Commercial and Logistics Center (EACLC).
“Soon, exhibitors will be showcasing their products there,” Ms Cathy Wang, the manager of EACLC, said.
She said due to covid-19 restrictions imposed by different countries, including China, as well as a ban on air travel, her team will conduct business connections on behalf of all exhibitors from Shandong, China.
“Products from Shandong, China, have been brought to Tanzania, East Africa and Central Africa. Samples and contact information of each company will be provided. We invite business leaders, leaders of public institutions and the general public to visit our pavilion to see what business and services we can provide,” Ms Wang said.
The manager added that due to the favorable business environment of the Tanzanian government, under President Samia Suluhu Hassan, the Chinese government and the business communities have confidence that the available economic relations formed by the founding fathers of the two countries will benefit the citizens of both countries.
The Chinese enterprises participating in this year’s exhibition are jointly organised by EACLC Limited and Weihai Huatian Supply chain Management Company Limited which is entrusted by the Department of Commerce of Shandong Province to arrange Chinese exhibitors to attend the 45th Sababa exhibition.
According to the official data from Tantrade, China has brought the largest number of exhibitors. Out of the 54 international exhibitors, China has 32 which is almost equal to 60 percent another sign of good relations existing between our two countries.
