new cases were recorded in the
last twenty-four hours, bringing the
number of active cases to 463.
Among the new cases, 15 were identified in Rusizi, three in Rubavu and two from Kigali.
The latest results were drawn from 4,702 sample tests. Since the
pandemic’s outbreak in mid-March, Rwanda has conducted 134,749 tests
nationwide.
From these tests, 878 cases have been confirmed as positive of which
413 have recovered and two people have succumbed to the virus.
The continued cases identified in Kigali led the Ministry of Local
Government to impose a total lockdown in six neighbourhoods in the
capital starting on Thursday.
On the global scale, the coronavirus cases have surpassed 10 million,
of which 5.4 million have recovered and almost half a million have
succumbed to it.
