By DAILY NEWS Reporter

TWO Tanzanians, Alice Ahadi Magaka and Isaya Yunge, were this week presented with the Queen’s Young Leaders Awards at a ceremony held in Buckingham Palace in London, England.
The duo are among the winners of the 2018 Queens Young Leaders Awards from around the Commonwealth who were presented with the awards by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

The Queen’s Young Leaders Programme, now in its fourth and final year, celebrates the achievements of young people from across the Commonwealth working to improve the lives of people across a diverse range of issues, including supporting people living with mental health problems, access to education, promoting gender equality, food scarcity and climate change.
Ms Magaka, the Pink Box Project founder, has been awarded for her efforts to educate girls about menstrual hygiene and provides sanitary care provisions for students who cannot afford to buy their own through her project.
“I am so humbled to receive an award from Her majesty Queen Elizabeth II. I dedicate this award to my teammates and all individuals who have been involved with ‘The Pink Box Project’ Tanzania,” Ms Magaka said on her tweet recently.
Mr Yunge is the founder and Chief Executive Officer at SomaApps Techonologies which created a mobile app that is revolutionalising how scholarships are offered in Africa.
He has been awarded for his efforts to help students to find fully funded scholarships through their mobile devices and smart phones.
The Queen’s Young Leader Award recognises and celebrates exceptional people aged 18-29 from across the Commonwealth, who are taking the lead in their communities and using their skills to transform lives.
Winners of this prestigious award receive a unique package of training, mentoring and networking, including a one-week residential programme in the UK during which they collect their award from Her Majesty The Queen.
With this support, Award winners will be expected to continue and develop the amazing work they are already doing in their communities.
