Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa, earlier today, officially closed the 2018/19 budget session in Parliament, Dodoma.
During his speech, the Premier said that in this financial year, the government intends to use 32.48tril/- as its total budget for the upcoming financial year. Out of that total budget, Majaliwa said 20.47tril/- will be used for basic expenses, which is equivalent to 63 per cent of the total budget.
He also added that about 12.01tril/- which is 37 percent of the total budget will be used for
developmental activities.
Other than that, Majaliwa explained that President Magufuli in early June, launched the agricultural sector development programme aimed at increasing value chain.
“The programme will focus on four major areas including water and land management in agriculture, increase productivity in agriculture, fishing and livestock, economising agriculture and increasing value chain and capacity building to stakeholders,” he added.
